This allows the surgeons to gain better access to the underlying nasal structures for more exacting manipulation and correction. The incision lines heal nicely and are virtually undetectable. Some patients dislike the width of the base of their nose or the flare of their nostrils. To address this concern, Dr. Delaney performs alar base reduction (Alarplasty). Tiny incisions are made at the crease where the nostrils join the cheek side which are nearly imperceptible. For some patients, all incisions are confined to the inside of the nostrils, resulting in no external skin incisions. The surgical technique selected depends upon the complexity and difficulty of your nasal surgery and is determined by the surgeon.
